Our History

2013: Commonwealth Aid International (CAI) is founded as a non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting education and integrated rural development in Ghana.

Education and Rural Development in Ghana: Programs and Partnerships

Its mission is to promote education and integrated rural development in Ghana. Throughout its history, CAI has implemented various programs and initiatives to achieve its mission, including skills acquisition and entrepreneurship coaching, micro-industries, mass literacy campaigns, health policies, poverty alleviation, governance, career planning and guidance, ICT training, scholarships, job placement services, and partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders. In recent years, CAI has introduced a Donor Dashboard to provide transparency and accountability to its donors, and launched a Volunteer Program to engage individuals who want to contribute their skills and time to the organization’s programs.

CAI begins its first program to provide skills acquisition and entrepreneurship coaching to rural communities in Ghana.

CAI launches a mass literacy campaign to improve education outcomes in rural areas.

CAI awards its first scholarships to indigent and less privileged scholars who demonstrate the potential to succeed academically.

CAI expands its programs to include job placement services for unemployed individuals in rural communities.
